The wine of the week: Château la Sauvageonne Rosé
July 15 2013
This week, we highlight the wine Château la Sauvageonne Rosé. The Château la Sauvageonne is a legendary winemaking estate, where optimal sun exposure and an exceptional terroir combine to produce wines of distinctive character.
For the first time, Château la Sauvageonne has created a wine rosé. Fresh, mineral and elegant, this is a gastronomic rosé to discover this summer!
GRAPE VARIETY: Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah
COLOUR: A gentle, pale, radiant pink robe with the subtlest flashes of blue, evolving with age to reveal hints of orange.
Château la Sauvageonne Rosé is a light, aromatic wine with intense red fruit aromas, including prominent blackcurrant and redcurrant, backed with floral notes (violet and rose) and hints of citrus (grapefruit). Delicate hints of wood expand to reveal undertones of vanilla and gingerbread.
It is in free tasting and on sale at the tasting cellar at Chateau l’Hospitalet, open 7/7.
It is perfect as an aperitif or to accompany charcuterie and grilled meats.
