the setting

Château l’Hospitalet is more than just a winemaking estate, it is a place devoted to a way of life.

Perfectly situated at the heart of the La Clape Massif conservation area and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the Château l’Hospitalet is a true haven of peace with 1,000 hectares of pine trees, scrubland and vines.

10 minutes from the centre of Narbonne and the A9 motorway and 5 minutes from the beach, Gérard Bertrand and his teams welcome you to share the art de vivre embodied by southern France.

Whether for a relaxing break, a wine tourism discovery tour, a studious seminar or a family event, let this unique location captivate you and awaken all your senses… Château l’Hospitalet is more than just a winemaking estate, it is a place devoted to a way of life.

Every year Hospitalet organises major events designed to bring art and culture to a wider audience. Regular art exhibitions are organised in our galleries. Also visit the shops and workshops of the artists in residence. Take a breath in the heart of the vineyards!

Surrounded by a tranquil landscape of vines, pines and scrubland, enjoy a relaxing stay at Hospitalet.
In season, cool off in the swimming pool or sunbathe to the sound of cicadas during the summer months.

Discover our organic vegetable garden and our aromatic herb garden, where the chef finds his daily treasures every morning to decorate your plate.

Stroll through the olive grove, used to produce the Hospitalet olive oil offered in our restaurant.

Wander on to the truffle field – and who knows, in season you may even come across a black diamond before it is scented by a dog and taken away to delight your taste buds.

Simply admire the wealth of flora and fauna on this protected mountain, which has some species (particularly orchids) that are unique the world over. An experience not to be missed: a quick climb (10min on foot along a well-kept path) to our ‘spot’ viewpoint, offering a panorama of the Mediterranean and – for the very lucky – sometimes a breath-taking view of the snow-capped Canigou which towers above the neighbouring Pyrenees.

Welcome in biodynamic ! Committed to a policy of sustainable development particularly aiming to preserve vineyard landscapes, promote biodiversity and develop environmentally-friendly agriculture, Château l’Hospitalet has been awarded the title of ‘carbon neutral estate’, symbolising its perfect mastery of its impact on the environment.
