"Jazz à l'Hospitalet" Festival, 2019

16th year : from July 24 to 28, 2019

Five memorable evenings pairing Wine, Food & Jazz in Château l'Hospitalet

Dear festival participants,

Thank you once again for contributing to the success of the 16th edition of Jazz at l’Hospitalet. Each day and each night was vivified by talented, altruist and generous artists.

Sharing the art of living means forging a link between wines, gastronomy, culture and music.

Melody Gardot hypnotised the audience with her sweet voice and enchanting arabesques.

Craig David transformed l’Hospitalet into a dance floor!

Ben l’Oncle Soul revealed the depth of his soul by inviting two children to the stage who called out declarations of love.

Lisa Simone is an enhanced version of her mother. Simply divine!

I will not comment on the concert that was cancelled.

It was a missed note: the 1400 people who attended know the truth.

I will always support musicians as they contribute to the creation and amplification of emotions.

Some are simply in better hands and are better advised than others.

So be it!

Wishing each and every one of you a wonderful summer!

Ben l'Oncle Soul

Watch the video

By reaching the top 20 of record sales in 2010 with his first album, Ben l’Oncle Soul becomes the new soul star in France and turns « Soulman » and « Petite Sœur » into classics of French soul.

Since, he kept solding out his tours with almost 500 shows in France, in Europe, in the United States and in Japan.

Ben l’Oncle Soul chose the Festival Jazz à l’Hospitalet for the gloabl exclusive launch of his new album. He returns to his youth loves without denying the soul that flows through his veins. Inspired by Afro american neo-soul artists from the 1990s (D’Angelo, Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys,...), his songs flirt with Rythm&Blues and Soul music and are part of the new wave R'n'B from the United States and the United Kingdom (H.E.R, Jorja Smith...).

Lisa Simone & Big Band Garonne

Watch the video

Nina Simone’s daughter, Lisa had a singular trajectory. Transported from one continent to another in her childhood – accordind to her illustrious mother’s peripeties, Lisa comes out of maternal orbit to integrate… the US Air Force!

A veteran of the war in Iraq, she turns to music, first with the Spanish star Raphael and then in the USA with the acid-jazz group Liquid Soul.

Simone becomes Lisa Simone by crossing the road of Hervé Samb in early 2014. A beautiful story of companionship between two accomplished musicians begins. With My World, Lisa Simone opens the doors to the intimate. Amon her album songs, we can discover the importance of her family: a distant son in Ode to Joe; his daughter RéAnna, to whom the song Unconditionnaly is dedicated, and who interprets with his mother a key title of the record – I Pray.

At the age of 53, Lisa Simone will sing to us her happiness for finally finding her place in this world, to share with the public a deep joy, a new serenity.
